What are Facial Thread Veins?

These are not broken capillaries but permanently dilated capillaries. They have very thin walls, which constantly dilate and constrict. As we age, these vessels lose their elasticity and can become permanently dilated.

 

There are numerous causes including: ageing, hereditary, pregnancy, the rubbing of spectacles, temperature extremes and harsh weather exposure, hormones and skin fragility. They are commonly seen in a maturing ‘English Rose’ complexion.

Will the treated areas be ok if exposed to sun?

Exposure to sun or sunbeds is not encouraged. Areas treated must be covered up on sunbeds for entire treatment time and for approximately 6 months afterwards. (Damp flannels or cotton wool are ideal).

 

In the sun a total block must be applied to areas treated during therapy and then for approximately 6 months afterwards. No Lotions or Potions for 3 days. Do not wax, depilate with cream, shave or sugar areas treated until completely healed.
